LESSONS

We cater for all levels and ages of rider, from beginner through to advanced. We run group lessons from beginner half hour children’s classes to hour more advanced groups. We do not take children until they are 4 years old but have no upper age limit. We do have a weight limit of 15 stone for adults. In addition to classes, we also do private and semi-private lessons for both children and adults. Childrens beginner lead-rein classes run at weekends only and have a maximum of 5 in a class. All childrens lessons work through our ‘achievement cards’, and move up the levels to more advanced classes as they progress. Adult riders can come in the daytime during the week, or in the evening or at weekend. We are open 9am – 9pm Tues – Thu, 9am - 5.30 on Friday, and 9 – 5 Sat/Sun. We have various levels of classes over these times to suit all abilities. CEC are happy to accept riders with special needs or learning disabilities, although they need to be able to walk to the horse and mount without being lifted, as we have no specialist equipment. We can cater for individual riders or groups. Our staff have no specialist training in this area, but are very friendly, helpful and supportive, and try to get the riders to achieve the best they can in their lessons within their ability. We have several ponies and small horses that are very quiet and patient and are used to being ridden by special needs riders. Local special needs schools use our facilities during school hours.

All lessons once booked require 24 hours notice of cancellation, or half the lesson fee will be charged! The indoor and outdoor schools are available for hire when not in use, £12/hour outdoor and £20/hr indoor, extra horse £2 each and lights £1.50 each horse. We have a cross counry course which is available for hire – weather permitting – in the summer at £10 per horse.
